We are a consulting firm — we do not issue certificates and we do not perform certification audits ourselves. What we do is bring your management system to a state where a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body will pass you with confidence at stage 2.

Internal audit & management review
Mandatory under the standard. We run a full internal audit cycle and a management review meeting, with minutes and actions.

Stage 1 (documentation) audit
The certification body reviews your documentation. We sit alongside, manage findings, and update the system before stage 2.

Stage 2 (implementation) audit
The auditor verifies that what's documented is actually happening. We support interviews, evidence and any minor non-conformance closure.

Certification & beyond
On a successful audit, the certifying body issues your certificate. Surveillance audits follow at 12 and 24 months; recertification at 36 months.

ISO consulting — common questions
01Does Spire Safety issue ISO certificates?
No. Only a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body can issue ISO certificates. Spire Safety is an independent consultancy — we prepare your organisation so that the certifying body's stage 1 and stage 2 audits succeed.
02How long does ISO 45001 readiness take?
Most small and mid-sized Australian businesses reach certification readiness in 3–6 months from project kick-off, depending on the maturity of existing safety processes and the resources you can dedicate internally.
03Can you cover ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 together?
Yes. We routinely deliver Integrated Management Systems (IMS) that satisfy ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and ISO 45001 (OH&S) using a single shared structure for documents, risk, audits and management review.
04Will you stay on after certification?
Many clients keep us on a light-touch retainer through their first surveillance audit (usually 12 months later), then move to ad-hoc support. We can also recommend a certification body — we are not affiliated with any.
05How is ISO 45001 different from WHS Act compliance?
WHS Act compliance is the legal minimum every PCBU must meet under Australian law. ISO 45001 is a voluntary international management-system standard that helps organisations demonstrably go beyond minimum compliance and prove it to clients, insurers and tenders.
