Free Toolbox Talk Topics and Templates

Browse our free toolbox talk topics, listed A–Z. Each template gives a supervisor a short, focused safety talk to deliver at the start of a shift, along with space to record who attended.

A toolbox talk is a brief, informal safety meeting held on site, usually five to fifteen minutes long. It is a practical way to consult workers, as the model WHS Act requires, about the hazards they face and the controls in place. Talks are often run after an incident or near miss, when a new task or piece of plant is introduced, or as part of a regular schedule.

Supervisors, leading hands and site managers use these templates on construction sites, in warehouses, workshops and on farms. Pick a topic that matches the work coming up, keep it short, ask questions, and file the signed attendance record.
